We need your old photos! Our images are scanned from photos donated or loaned to the Conservancy and scanned for all to see. Old papers and photos of San Buenaventura from the 1800's to the 1960's are priceless and can be scanned and returned, or safely stored in our fireproof archive

Ventura City Hall, ca. 1940s

We are always looking for historical photos of Ventura buildings, landmarks and other sights as we build our archival photo database. If you or anyone you know has old photos, we would love to see them and perhaps display them here in the San Buenaventura Conservancy Archives. Please contact us here.

For helpful hints on preserving and maintaining your own archival prints and negatives, Steve Schafer has written a wonderful article on the subject. Click here to visit our "tools" page for the read.

We have a new gallery (fall '05) with photos donated by Ida Mary Isensee Rodda. They are photos of Ventura and surrounding areas taken by local photographer Bernie Isensee between 1920 and 1950. SBC profoundly thanks Ida for her generous contribution to our archives. You can access the gallery here.
